Some of Bristol-born actor David Prowse's original memorabilia is going under the hammer today to raise money for Alzheimer's Research UK.

Bristol auctioneers say they've had more interest in the items than anything they've sold before.

Among the lots are an original script from The Empire Strikes Back and a mask of the famous villain worn by the star.

Prowse, who died last year, was a body builder known for playing Darth Vader - although the character was voiced by another actor.

The Bristol Grammar School pupil was also famous for being the Green Cross man to promote road safety for children,

East Bristol Auctions says there are also some personal items going under the hammer.
