The police need help to identify a man after a woman reported being sexually assaulted in Frome.

Avon and Somerset Police say the "touching" incident happened at The George Hotel in Market Place in the evening of Saturday 18 February, between 7-11pm.

The woman later saw the man in the Cheese and Grain, and alerted security.

The man is described as white, approximately 5ft 11ins tall, in his 30s and bald.

He was seen wearing a pink top, dark jeans and dark coloured shoes.

The appeal comes on the same day we begin our #ReportIt campaign, highlighting the extent of assaults on women and asking what we in the media can do to help.

The latest statistics show 70,600 reports of rape were made to the police across England and Wales in the year to June 2022.

That marks a 20 per cent increase from 2019-20 and is double the number recorded in the year to March 2016.
