Frome man dies in head-on crash in Wiltshire

A man from Frome has died and four others have been injured in a crash in Wiltshire yesterday afternoon (April 11).

Wiltshire Police have confirmed the man - in his 60s - was driving one of the cars involved in a head-on collision on the A3098 outside Chalcot Park Farm.

It happened at around 4.30pm, involving two cars - a BMW and a Ford Mondeo - where the Ford driver died at the scene.

His next of kin have been told.

The front passenger of the BMW - a man in his 20s - has suffered potentially life-threatening injuries, and was taken to hospital by air ambulance following the incident.

Two rear passengers of the BMW, both men in their 20s, suffered minor injuries.

Wiltshire Police have launched an appeal for witnesses on the road, which remained closed for collision investigation for several hours yesterday.

The road has since reopened.
