There's some good news for eco-friendly residents in Bristol and Bath - e-scooters are now available to use.

The West of England Combined Authority has launched a 12-month scheme, taking pressure off public transport and aiding socially-distanced travel.

Voi, the firm running the trial, has created more than 60 jobs for locals.

'Low carbon way to get our region moving'

West of England Mayor, Tim Bowles said: "Our e-scooter trial is a chance for us to try a new, low carbon way to get our region moving, particularly up and down the big hills we have both Bristol and Bath.

“Alongside metrobus, our transformational MetroWest rail network and plans for a regional mass transit, we’re making it easier to get to the jobs and training opportunities that will secure our recovery".

Initially, 100 scooters can be hired in Bristol - with 50 available in Bath.

They will cost £1 to unlock and 20p per minute used.
