COVID-19 case numbers in Wiltshire have dropped but remain above the national average for the second week.

In the last seven days, 1,720 people have tested positive for coronavirus in Wiltshire.

This is an almost seven per cent decrease from the previous week, where 1,846 new cases were recorded.

However, this means that the case rate per 100,000 people in Wiltshire stands at 341.2, which is again above the England average of 319.9.

In a tweet, Wiltshire Council urged residents to continue to play their part to halt the further spread of Covid-19.
