Folk singer Cara Dillon shot in the face by BB gun in Frome

Northern Irish folk artist Cara Dillon has said was shot in the face by a BB gun whilst walking through Frome (5th June).

The singer claims she was shot multiple times by someone from a passing vehicle but is now safe.

In a post on X she wrote: "Walking through #Frome tonight I was shot in the face by a BB gun multiple times by someone from a passing vehicle.

"I’m ok but really, really shocked, the police have been great. Be aware."

People have expressed concern in the comment section of the post.

One person said: "Must have been very frightening. That's awful. Hope they catch the culprit! Sending virtual hugs." Another posted: "That’s really awful Cara. Trusting you are OK. As these things are always so unexpected they can be quite a shock to the system."

In a statement sent to us, Avon and Somerset Police said:

"Officers are investigating two reports of individuals being hit by a suspected BB gun pellet in Bath Street and Rodden Road in Frome.

"Thankfully, we do not believe anyone has been seriously injured or required any medical treatment and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

"We are asking anyone with any information to get in touch by calling 101 and quoting reference 5224144931 to the call handler."
