Businessman admits killing sisters in car crash near Frome
Madison and Liberty North both died in a crash in Somerset last July
A businessman is facing jail after he admitted killing two sisters in a car crash near Frome.
Thomas Lenthall, 39, appeared at Bristol Crown Court to plead guilty to causing the deaths of Madison and Liberty North by dangerous driving.
The charges relate to a collision on the A361 Frome bypass in Somerset on July 25 in which 21-year-old Madison and 17-year-old Liberty, known as Maddie and Libby, died.
Lenthall, of no fixed address, spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and enter his pleas.
Two further charges of causing death while driving a motor vehicle without insurance were not put to the defendant.
Emma Martin, defending, said she would apply for bail before sentencing to allow her client to deal with personal matters.
"Mr Lenthall is somebody who has sole charge of a business and a number of personal matters which he does need to attend to," she said.
"There will be an application for him to be allowed to put his affairs in order before sentence."
Judge Peter Blair KC remanded Lenthall in custody until he is sentenced on November 23.
"I am going to order a pre-sentence report. You must understand that its only value is to consider the appropriate custodial sentence for you," the judge said.
