A blaze - which saw smoke billowing over Bristol Airport this morning - has now been fully extinguished.

There have been a few minor delays, after a ground power unit caught alight.

That's a small, mobile generator that is used to provide power to an aircraft when it is on a stand.

It's understood it happened near an empty Ryanair plane.

A spokesperson from Bristol Airport said: "A ground power unit (GPU) caught fire this morning.

"This was quickly extinguished by our fire team and there were no injuries."

A spokesperson from Ryanair told us: “This flight from Bristol to Fuerteventura (2 May) was delayed due to a ground power unit (GPU) catching fire at Bristol Airport.

"This flight departed for Fuerteventura at 8.35am local time.”
