Boys could have caused fatal crash in Chippenham, say police
A brick was thrown at a lorry driving along the A350
Wiltshire Police say they're looking for two boys who threw a brick at a lorry in Chippenham.
It happened at around 7:50am on Thursday (25 May) when a brick was allegedly thrown off a bridge over the A350 near Chippenham Rugby Club.
The lorry was hit in the windscreen but thankfully the driver kept control and no one was injured.
PC Gemma Henson said: “This was an incredibly reckless and dangerous thing to do and it is incredibly fortunate that the boys’ actions didn’t lead to a collision.
“That stretch of the road is the national speed limit so any kind of collision at that speed could easily be fatal.”
Police are now appealing for witnesses saying anyone who was driving along the road at around that time should get in touch, especially if they have dashcam footage.
Anyone who does should call 101 and quote the reference number 54230054606.
