A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after intentionally colliding with a police officer on Saturday night.

The man is in his 30s and from Twerton in Bath.

The officer attempted to speak to the occupants of a car he'd seen in a field on Conscience Lane, but they refused to engage, with the driver intentionally driving into the officer before leaving the area.

The officer suffered injuries that required hospital treatment but has since been discharged from hospital and will recover at home.

Police are making an urgent appeal to help find a vehicle in question.

The car is a white Dacia Jogger Expression registration WU73MXL and is thought to be in area of West Bath.

Officers are keen to find the Dacia they believe to have been involved and are encouraging the public to share any information they have.

If we have any information we can call 101 and quote log number 383 of June 1.
