£20,000 reward offered for information after police assault
Crimestoppers are offering the money for information following a stabbing last month
Crimestoppers is offering a £20,000 reward to anyone who comes forward with information about a serious assault on a female police officer last month.
The 30 year old was stabbed in the early hours of October 18, after responding to a break-in on Arthur Street, Stevenston.
She was accompanied by two male colleagues during the assault, however no one else was injured, and no one has been charged to date.
The charity -which is independent of the police- has stressed people can remain anonymous if they come forward.
National Manager Angela Parker said: “Whilst we are not the police, our charity works closely with them every day by passing on essential tip-offs given to us anonymously. Their role is vital in keeping people and communities safe.
“We understand that it can be difficult to come forward with crime information, which is why our charity is here to support anyone who wants to make a difference, but feels unable to speak directly to law enforcement.”
She added: “I’d like to thank everyone who has taken the step of using Crimestoppers over the years and appeal to anyone who has relevant information about this case to take advantage of our anonymity guarantee.”
Crimestoppers can be contacted at 0800 555 111, or on their website.
Police Scotland can still be contacted with information directly by those who do not want the reward.
Claiming the reward
Anyone who wishes to claim the reward must say they want to either in the online form or over the phone, passing on the information does not immediately qualify you for it.
To see if you are eligible for the reward, you must go online to the Crimestoppers website, use the 'Keeping in Contact' portal, request a reward code and then log back in 24 hours later to obtain a unique code.
You’ll be asked to check with us two months later with the reward unique code to see if there has been a positive result.
