An Ayrshire teen has been left ‘shaken’ after being robbed at knifepoint at the weekend.

Police in South Ayrshire are appealing for information following the robbery that happened in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A 19-year-old man was approached by a male who demanded cash and threatened him with a knife before taking his phone.

It happened around 2:40am on Sunday 6 August outside a property in the Princes Court area.

The teenager’s phone was recovered and there were no injuries, but he was left shaken by what had happened.

The suspect is described as a white male, aged around 20-30 years-old, and of medium build. He was wearing a dark jacket and light-coloured trousers.

Detective Constable Ainsley Sweeney said: “Fortunately no one was injured and our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

“We are keen to trace the man involved and I am asking anyone who saw what happened or saw the man to get in touch.

“In addition, if you were driving in the area and have dash-cam footage that could help with our investigation then please make contact with us.”

Anyone who can help is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference number 0613 of Sunday, 6 August, 2023. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
