The man behind ‘The Dress’ is set to stand trial accused of a murder bid on his wife.
Keir Johnston, 38, will stand trial at the High Court in Glasgow next May following the alleged assault of Grace Johnston at his mother in law’s cottage on the Isle of Colonsay last March.
Johnston is claimed to have pinned her to the ground, put his hands around her neck and brandished a knife at her.
The man from Moffat, Dumfries and Galloway, faces separate charges of 11 years of domestic abuse against his wife.
Allegations include controlling her whereabouts and finances, as well as physical assaults.
Johnston’s mother-in-law’s dress was dubbed The Dress that Broke the Internet, after a photo of it in 2015 sparked debate as to the colour of it, with some seeing white and gold, while others saw blue and black.
A virtual hearing took place at the High Court in Glasgow today during which Judge Lord Armstrong set a five-day floating trial for May 7.
