When asked for an exclusive of the menu set up for the Olympian Ryan said: “Tommy eats super clean, lots of green vegetables and salads. Nice lean meats, only drinks water, there was no sweets, sugar or any crisps. No alcohol.
He was super focused, he really wanted to bring a medal home for the team – it was amazing.”
Tommy Fleetwood, 33, was tied with gold medallist Scottie Scheffler with two holes at Le Golf National but failed to match the American.
Speaking on the excitement of the games Ayr-born chef, Ryan said: “They made me feel part of the team as well, it was an amazing experience to be part of that, to watch such a dedicated athlete and to help in some way. It was just fantastic.”
“Another thing to take away was the recovery in terms of recovery through nutrition, recovery through sleep, nothing super complicated it’s something I think anyone can do whether you are playing amateur golf or amateur football or any sport.
If you are eating clean and getting your sleep at night, it’s the best thing for you to give you the best chance to succeed.”
