Investigation launched after sudden death of elderly woman on Troon Beach

The body of an elderly woman has been found on Troon beach.

Emergency services were called out at around 6.50 on Tuesday morning, with reports of South Beach car park being sealed off.

Police have confirmed they're investigating the sudden death of the women, which is currently being treated as unexplained.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to the beach at Crosbie Road in Troon around 6.50am on Tuesday, 18 April following the sudden death of an elderly woman. The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
