South Ayrshire Council release concept designs for Citadel refurb
Example pictures of the Citadel Leisure Centres £10m refurbishment have been released.
South Ayrshire Council have released pictures of what they hope the Citadel Leisure Centre refurb can look like.
The local authority have shown example pictures of the new café, and new active play area, as well as a new immersive spin studio and revamped reception.
They are working with Alliance Leisure to develop the initial proposals of the £10m investment.
Bosses at the council say they are still in the very early stages of the refurb, and will be taking into account the work need to repair the fabric of the building.
South Ayrshire Council leader Martin Dowey said the project will be focussing on improving customer experience and create opportunities for tourism and attracting new users for the facility.
He said: “We want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to stay active, fit and healthy, and these design concepts give a great idea of what the improvements could look like at The Citadel Leisure Centre.
“The centre is used by over 300,000 people every year for a wide range of activities, and we want to make sure it has the best facilities and equipment so that everyone can access and enjoy a great space for play, sport and recreation. I’m really looking forward to seeing this project progress.”
