Cannabis farm potentially worth almost £1million found in Ayr

A cannabis farm potentially worth almost a million pounds has been uncovered by police in South Ayrshire.
Officers found the cultivation in a disused shop on Newmarket Street in Ayr at around 4pm on Tuesday 20th
The plants have now been estimated to be worth around £920,000 and enquiries are ongoing.
Sergeant Stuart Lawrie, of the Priority Policing Team in Ayr, said: “This was a very significant recovery which sends a clear message that the sale and distribution of drugs will not be tolerated in our community.
“It also underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy, and the determination of our officers to protect people from this harmful criminality.
