Body found in search for missing Irvine woman

A body has been found during the search for a missing Irvin woman.

Anne Macdonald, 55, was last seen in the Kilwinning Road area at around 11.30am on Monday.

However, Police Scotland revealed today (Saturday) the body of a woman was found in woodland near to the Eglington Interchange at around 11am.

While formal identification is carried out, the family on Ms Macdonald have been informed.

There is not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.
