Appeal to drivers after crash closes the A77

Police who closed the A77 for six hours for accident investigation work police are putting an appeal out for video footage from other drivers to help piece together how it happened.

A 48-year-old man was taken to hospital after his blue BMW 320 crashed into a wall near J6 at Fenwick at 9.20am on Tuesday 14th March.

The driver was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow, for treatment.

Dashcam appeal

Sergeant Stewart Taylor from Irvine Road Policing Unit said: ā€œOur enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident.

ā€œIn particular, if you have dash-cam footage that could assist, please get in touch.ā€
