Two people in hospital following A90 crash at Laurencekirk

Two people have been taken to hospital after a two-vehicle crash on the A90 in Aberdeenshire.
The incident happened near Laurencekirk at 10.20am on Wednesday.
One person was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by air ambulance and another was taken to Ninewells Hospital by road.
Multiple emergency service vehicles were sent to the scene, including three special operations response teams (SORT), a trauma team, three fire appliances and a heavy rescue appliance.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We received a call at 10.22 to attend a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A90 near Laurencekirk," they said.
"We dispatched two ambulances, three special operations response teams, a trauma team, and one air ambulance to the scene.
"One patient was transported to Ninewells Hospital by road and one patient was transported to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by air ambulance."
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 10.19am on Wednesday, 12 February, to reports of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on the A90 near Laurencekirk.
“Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances and a heavy rescue appliance to the scene.
“Crews remain in attendance."
The road is currently closed in both directions between Laurencekirk and North Water Bridge.
Police said local diversions are in place, and that and motorists should avoid the area if possible.
