Three people in hospital after Aberdeenshire collision

Three people have been taken to hospital following a crash between a car and a lorry in Aberdeenshire.

It happened today around 4:30pm on the A96 at the junction with the A97.

The three people in the car have been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.

The road is currently close southbound - a local diversion is in place.

A police Scotland spokesperson said: “We are in attendance on the A96 at the junction with the A97, Huntly, following a crash involving a lorry and a car that happened around 4.30pm on Monday, 22, January.

“Three people from the car have been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

“The lorry has shed its load of logs and recovery is underway.

“The road is closed southbound and it will take some time to clear completely.

"A local diversion in place.”
