A 19-year-old man has been killed in a road accident in Inverurie.

He was driving a Citroen C2 which was in a collision with a Range Rover on the B9001 between Inverurie and Rothienorman yesterday afternoon.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and the 20y-year-old woman who was also in the car was taken to hospital.

The 60-year-old woman driving the other vehicle and the 64-year-old male passenger were also injured.

They're all in a stable condition.

The road was closed for 10 hours to allow for a full crash investigation.

Sergeant Alexander Bowser-Riley said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died and those involved in the incident. We will continue to support them throughout the investigation.

"I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, and who has not already spoken to officers, to get in touch.

"I would also appeal to anyone who was driving in the area around the time of the crash and who may have dashcam footage which could assist us to contact police."
