Teenager due in court following 'serious assault' on Aberdeen's Union Street

A 31-year-old man was taken to hospital following the incident.

A teenager is due to appear in court today following a 'serious assault' on Aberdeen's Union Street at the weekend.

The incident happened at around 1.10am on Sunday 11 August and a 31-year-old man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Police have now arrested and charged a 19-year-old man in connection.

He is due to appear at Aberdeen Sherriff Court on Monday 12 August.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault on Union Street in Aberdeen around 1.10am on Sunday, 11 August, 2024.

“A 31-year-old man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.

“The 19-year-old man is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday, 12 August, 2024.”
