Teenager appears in court after alleged stabbing in Stonehaven
An 18-year-old man was taken to hospital after being found injured in the town's Market Square on Saturday.
A teenager has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after an alleged stabbing in Stonehaven.
An 18-year-old was found seriously injured in the town's Market Square on Saturday evening and was taken to hospital.
Emergency crews sealed off the area.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested and charged and appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday 17 March.
The teenager was charged with assault to severe injury, danger to life and attempted murder as well as being in possession of an offensive weapon.
He was released on bail and will appear in court at a later date.
Police reassured the public following the incident on Saturday.
Detective Sergeant Niall Mullen said: “This is being treated as an isolated incident and there was no risk to the wider public.
“Anyone with concerns can contact police on 101.”
