An appeal to trace a Banff man who has been missing for more than a year has been re-issued.

74-year-old Robert Gibson, who is known as Bob, was reported missing on October 23 last year.

It is not known when Bob was last seen but it is believed to be around the time of September 2023.

He was well-known locally and often walks in the area of Duff House and is a keen fisherman.

Mr Gibson is described as 5ft 7ins tall, of slim build with grey thinning hair.

It is not known what clothes he could be wearing.

Detective Inspector Andrew Wilson said: “More than a year has passed since Bob was reported missing and we remain extremely concerned for him.

"Bob was known to walk a route along the River Deveron and extensive land and water searches were carried out with no trace of him. All other enquiries have also not found any trace of him.

"I would ask anyone who may have seen Bob or who has any information on where he may have gone to contact us as soon as possible.”
