Provisional opening dates for two delayed Aberdeen hospital projects
NHS Grampian are due to provide a further update on Wednesday.
Aberdeen's new Anchor Centre and Baird Family Hospital have been given provisional opening dates four years after they were due to open.
The facilities located on Foresterhill Campus have faced a series of delays including a number of design changes, rising costs, market changes and work being paused.
The Anchor Centre will provide haematology, oncology and radiotherapy services under one roof and is expected to be operational in winter this year.
The Baird Family Hospital will bring together maternity, neonatal, reproductive medicine, breast and gynaecology services.
NHS Grampian expects this to be opened in summer 2025.
The health board is giving an update this morning and papers published ahead of the meeting state: "The provisional programme dates for functional occupation of the buildings have now been set as winter 2024 for the ANCHOR Centre and summer 2025 for the Baird Family Hospital."
Official dates will be finalised after a Healthcare Acquired Infection (HAI) feasibility study is complete.
In late 2023, A HAI highlighted several design issues within the buildings which required amendment.
The measures - including improvements to the ventilation systems - were to ensure services would operate in a safe environment whilst minimising further delay on their completion.
Both hospital projects were originally due to open in 2020.
