Woman, 61, dies after two-vehicle crash in Aberdeenshire

A woman has died after a two-vehicle crash in Aberdeenshire.

Emergency crews were called to the A98 near Craigmaud at around 5pm on Tuesday 1 April.

A 61-year-old woman, the driver of an Audi Q5, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three male occupants of a Ford Transit van were all taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.

The road was closed for around ten hours while officers carried out investigation work to examine the scene.

It reopened at around 1am on Tuesday 2 April.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses and information.

Sergeant Dave Cooper said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the lady who tragically lost her life in this collision.

“Our enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash are continuing and I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or was travelling on the A98 around the time of the crash, especially if they have dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation.”
