The Kingswells to Aberdeen bus route has been saved after it was due to be cut next month.

Stagecoach announced the X14 would be pulled from November 23, leaving residents with a park and ride service only.

Aberdeen City Council has revealed McGill's Buses will be taking over the service starting from Monday 25 November.

It will run between Kingswells and Bridge Street, via Lang Stracht, Westburn Road, and Holburn Junction from Monday to Friday.

Journeys will operate every 30 minutes at peak times and up to every 60 minutes at off-peak times with timetables and route maps available on the council's website in the coming weeks.

The local authority assured Stagecoach Bluebird season passes will be accepted on the service up to and including 31 December.

McGill's is Scotland's largest independent bus company and this is the first time it will operate in the North East.
