Man seriously injured on ship in Aberdeen harbour dies

A man who was seriously injured whilst working on a ship docked at an Aberdeen harbour has died.

Emergency services were called to Dunottar Quay in Aberdeen South Harbour around 3:40pm yesterday, however the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident to establish what happened.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.40 pm on Saturday, 22 July 2023, police were called to Dunottar Quay, Aberdeen South Harbour, in Aberdeen after a report that a man had been seriously injured whilst working on a ship docked at the site.

"Emergency services attended but the man died at the scene. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident. The Health and Safety Executive has been made aware."
