Man jailed for abduction and serious assault of woman at Aberdeen property

A man who abducted a woman before subjecting her to a prolonged and violent assault lasting more than 21 hours has been jailed.

Jackson forced his way into the Kittybrewster home and repeatedly punched his victim in the face rendering her unconscious - despite a child being present.
After his victim regained consciousness, he attempted to strangle her and hit her with a knife.
He then held the knife across the woman's mouth and threatened to give her a 'Chelsea smile'.
The woman managed to escape by jumping out of the ground floor window the following afternoon, with a make shift tourniquet wrapped around her leg.
The woman sustained a total of 54 separate injuries including a stab wound, heavy bruising as well as cracked teeth.
Jackson appeared at the High Court in Glasgow today, 8 May, where he admitted a charged of abduction, assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement, and danger to life.
He was given an extended sentence of 12 years with eight in custody at the High Court in Glasgow on June 5, 2024.

“We recognise that this type of violence can inflict lasting trauma on survivors and their extended families, especially on children and young people who may witness it.
“The violent offending committed by Jackson is horrific and abhorrent. He will now have to face the consequences of his actions."
Detective Inspector Andrew Machray said: “This was a horrendous ordeal that left Jackson’s victim with life threatening injuries. I hope this sentencing brings her some kind of closure.
“Jackson will now face the consequences of his unspeakable actions.
“Violence in our communities is not acceptable in any form and Police Scotland will work to make sure those responsible for this type of crime are brought to justice.”
