Man charged after £200,000 cannabis farm discovered in Aberdeenshire

A 38-year-old man is due to appear in court today.

A man has been charged after a cannabis farm worth around £200,000 was recovered by police in Aberdeenshire.

Police received a tip-off of suspicious activity on Friday 3 January.

During a search of the property in Ellon, 245 cannabis plants worth an estimated £200,000 were discovered.

A 38-year-old man has been charged and is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday 6 January.

North Aberdeenshire Area Commander, Chief Inspector Steven McDonald said, “Serious and Organised Crime remains a priority and along with our partners and specialist resources, we are committed to detecting offences and disrupting criminal enterprises.

"We rely on the public to tell provide us with information to help us do so.
