Man arrested following death of "much loved" family man in Ellon

A 44-year-old man has been arrested following the death of another man in Ellon.

Police were called to a property in Gordon Place where they found Martin Forgie around 8.35pm last night.

Teams have still to carry out a post mortem on Martin, from Maud in Aberdeenshire.

The 36-year-old’s family has been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

In a statement released through Police Scotland, his family said: "Martin was a much loved son, brother, father, nephew, grandson and uncle.

"He will be greatly missed.

"We ask for our privacy as a family to be respected at this difficult time."

Detective Inspector Rory Campbell said: "Our thoughts remain with Mr Forgie's family and friends at this extremely difficult time.

"Officers will remain in the area while enquiries are carried out.
