Elton John is set to play in Aberdeen for the last time tonight, 52 years after his first show in the city.

The much anticipated Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour first took to TECA's stage on Tuesday night, four years after tickets were released for sale.

The show was postponed first due to the pandemic, and then further delayed due to Sir Elton's hip replacement.

The tour began in 2018, and has since become the highest grossing tour of all time according to Billboard.

'Amazing atmosphere'

Jan Williams from Aberdeen was at the show on Tuesday.

"When I went through to watch the show, it was just amazing to see the place fully packed, I mean the stage was as far back as possible because it was just full.

"I would say half way into the show, everybody bar about 10% were on their feet dancing and singing and it was just an amazing atmosphere."

Over 10,000 fans are expected to attend the show this evening and Jan says they will not be disappointed.

"Everybody's going to walk out of there happy because it was Elton John and it was just absolutely amazing."

There are only five more locations left in the tour including Glasgow, Paris and Zurich.
