Dog attack in Aberdeen puts two pensioners in hospital
Police officers have launched an investigation to establish the full circumstances of the incident

A 73-year-old man and a woman, who is 70, have been treated in hospital after a dog attack in Aberdeen.
Police were called to a house in the Dyce area of the city on Wednesday afternoon.
Officers have said an investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3pm on Wednesday, 17 January, 2024 we received a report of a man being attacked by a dog in the Corrennia Circle area of Aberdeen.
“Emergency services attended and a 73-year-old man and a 70-year-old woman were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.
“Enquires are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
It comes at a time when Scottish and UK ministers ramp up dogs control laws.
On Thursday, Holyrood announced safeguards on XL Bully dogs similar to those in England and Wales.
The Scottish Government will also look to make potential improvements to the 2010 Control of Dogs Act to enhance the preventative dog control notice scheme.
However, it is unknown what breed was involved in the attack in Dyce on Wednesday.
