Car crashes off Aberdeen Esplanade

The vehicle went onto the beach earlier this evening

A car has crashed off the Aberdeen Esplanade and onto the beach.

The alarm was raised around 5.25pm today and emergency teams, including Aberdeen Coastguard and Police Scotland, were in attendance.

Officers cordoned off the area whilst medical teams checked over the driver.

First responders have now left the scene.

Shortly after the crash, a Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 5.25pm on Tuesday, 7 January, 2025, we were called to a report of a road crash involving one car at Esplanade, Aberdeen.

"Officers are in attendance.

"The driver of the car is out the vehicle and being checked by medical staff."

A spokesperson for the Coastguard said: “An Aberdeen Coastguard Rescue Team was sent to a report of a car going onto the beach at the Esplanade, Aberdeen.

“HM Coastguard was informed at about 5.45pm on 7 January. Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service were also alerted.”
