People living in a block of flats in Aberdeen have been allowed home – after being evacuated by police yesterday.

Potentially hazardous substances were discovered in a flat in Cadenhead Place around 10am on Sunday.

And a number of homes were evacuated as a precaution.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers attended a flat in Cadenhead Place, Aberdeen, around 9.55am on Sunday, 25 August, 2024, following the discovery of potentially hazardous substances within.

"A number of properties were evacuated as a precaution, however residents have now returned.
