Five taken to hospital following A92 crash

Drivers are being asked to avoid the area and use an alternative route.

Five people have been taken to hospital following a crash on the A92 near Johnshaven on Monday morning.

Emergency services were called to the two-vehicle collision at around 8am.

The driver of one of the cars and two teenage passengers were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, whilst another passenger and the driver of the other vehicle were taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

The road remains closed in both directions and drivers are being asked to avoid the area.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "The A92 remains closed in both directions north of Johnshaven following a crash involving two cars which was reported around 8am on Monday, 20 January, 2025.

"Emergency services attended and the female driver of one of the cars and two teenage rear seat passengers were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

"The front seat female passenger was taken to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, where the female driver of the other car was also taken.

"Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use an alternative route."
