West Midlands Police have charged a third teenager over a fatal stabbing of another teenager in Solihull.

Abdurrahman Summers, 18, has been charged with the murder of a 17-year-old Reuben Higgins, who was fatally stabbed on Station Road, Marston Green, on 29 October.

He has also been charged with possessing a bladed article and will appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court tomorrow (Sat) for a first hearing.

Reuben’s devastated family have issued a statement, which said: “Reuben was a loving son, grandson, brother, nephew and cousin who will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Life will never be the same without him.”

Three teenagers have now been charged with Reuben’s murder. Two 15-year-old boys, who can’t be named for legal reasons, have also been charged with his murder and possessing a bladed article.

Detective Inspector Michelle Cordell, from the force’s Homicide Team, added: “Reuben’s parents have been fully updated with the latest development and continue to be supported by specially trained officers. Our thoughts remain with his family and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.”
