About Andy Shier

Andy was born and bred on the Isle of Wight in the era of the original Isle of Wight Festivals and has never forgiven his parents for not taking him to any of them, even in his buggy!

These days (despite the offer of VIP passes) he can still be seen slumming it in the thick of the 80,000 crowd at the event  - even though he admits that his days in the mosh pit are now far behind him.

Andy’s radio career has seen him in constant battle with the big BBC stations for the last 25 years and (like Mark Jeeves) he was one of the original launch presenters on Planet Rock. As well as his work with Planet Rock he is programme director at sister station Wave 105 on the south coast.
