Teenager stabbed in Leicestershire park
He was approached by two men on a moped.
A teenager's been stabbed during a robbery in a park in Leicestershire.
Two sixteen year old boys were approached in Braunstone Park by two men on a moped at around 6.45pm last night (Wednesday 22nd March).
The men were described as wearing black tracksuits and balaclavas.
One of the men was reported to have demanded a bracelet from one of the boys.
When the boy refused, the man attacked the boy with a knife.
The boy has suffered a stab wound to his leg and a slash wound injury to his hand.
The man then allegedly took an electric scooter from the boys and left the area on the moped in the direction of Hallam Crescent East.
The victim went to hospital for treatment to his injuries.
He has been discharged from hospital but is continuing to receive treatment.
The second boy was not injured.
Police Statement
Detective Constable Aisling McPhillips said: “This is a very disturbing incident which has happened in Braunstone Park during the early evening. We are carrying out full enquiries to establish the circumstances and to identify the men responsible.
“We are appealing to the public for your help. Please think back to if you were in the area or in the streets near the park including Cort Crescent, Braunstone Avenue, Hallam Crescent East and the surrounding area.
“Did you see the men as described travelling on a moped? Did you see anything which caused you concern or looked unusual? Have you any CCTV, dashcam footage or doorbell video footage which could assist our enquiries? If you have any information, no matter how small it may seem, please get in contact with us.
“There will understandably be concern in the community following this report. Please be reassured we are carrying out full enquiries into the incident, including at the scene, and providing full support to the victims.”
