Police have arrested a 15 year old boy after a McDonald's in Nottingham city centre was ransacked last Sunday night (21 Aug).

A group of around 50 teenagers stormed the restaurant and hopped the counter to steal food and soft drinks.

It is believed the same group went on to cause disturbances at KFC in Milton Street and Cineworld at the Cornerhouse in Forman Street on the same evening.

A team of detectives and police staff have been pursuing a number of lines of inquiry to identify those involved.

Today (25 Aug), a 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of burglary and affray.

He remains in custody for questioning.

Detective Sergeant Alan Prentice, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“We have been working tirelessly on this investigation and are continuing to make significant progress in identifying those responsible.

“Although today’s arrest is a positive step, our inquiries continue and I would urge anyone who has any information to come forward either via 101 or Crimestoppers.”
