Leicester City have been given the green light to increase the capacity of King Power Stadium by 8,000 seats.

The Championship leaders can currently fit more than 32,000 fans into their ground but plans have been approved by Leicester City Council to allow expansion.

They went to the council in October 2021 but have now been rubber-stamped.

They also include an application to improve the area surrounding the stadium.

The East Stand expansion will form part of what the club describe as a "wider masterplan", which also includes a fan zone, an event and entertainment arena, a hotel, a residential building and a new club shop.
