Leicestershire Police believe he was assaulted in the early hours of the morning.

The 20-year-old is currently in custody for questioning.

The seven others who were arrested have been released on bail whilst investigations continue.

A month on from the incident, detectives from the force’s Murder Investigation Team continue to carry out enquiries to establish the full details of the incident and are working to ensure those involved are identified.

Detective Inspector Jen Heggs, senior investigating officer on the case, said: “In the time since Mr Schofield’s death myself and my team have been working hard to piece together the events of the Saturday night and the early hours of Sunday morning."

She said: “The police are supporting Mr Schofield’s family who continue to grieve the loss of a loved one. They deserve to know the truth of what led to his death and see that anyone who was responsible is brought to justice.

“I would urge anyone who has not yet spoken to police but has any information that could assist to come forward – it is not too late to make contact.”
