Man dies after fatal collision in Derby

A male passenger has died after a fatal collision in Derby.

A Vauxhall combo van was involved in the incident on Mansfield Road, near to Rollerworld.

There were three passengers in the vehicle in total, a 42-year-old man who was pronounced deceased at the scene, a 62-year-old man who remains in a serious condition in hospital and a 34-year-old woman who received minor injuries.

The driver, a 40-year-old male, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in police custody.

Derbyshire Police are appealing for witnesses.

They say: "Anyone that was in the area at the time and has information or dash cam footage is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0300 122 8147 or using the methods below quoting reference number 22*350342."
