Police launch investigation over 'unexplained' death

Police in Nottingham are investigating the sudden death of man whose body was found in a residential car park in St Ann's.

A police cordon has been set up on Moffatt Close.

Nottinghamshire Police have issued a statement, after officers were called out at 1.40 am this morning to a report of a sudden death.

Detective Inspector Clare Gibson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “An investigation is currently underway after a man’s body was found in a residential car park. His death is currently being treated as unexplained.

“A scene remains in place while we continue our work to establish the circumstances.

"While our inquiries remain in their early stages, we are appealing to anyone who was in the area and saw what happened to please get in touch with us.

“We’d also like to hear from anyone who may have any additional information which could aid us with our inquiries, including anyone who may have recorded CCTV or dashcam footage.

“Residents will continue to see an increased police presence in the area to provide reassurance while our inquiries continue and anyone with concerns following this incident can speak to officers at the scene.

“Formal identification has not yet taken place. Our thoughts are with this man’s family and we’d ask people not to speculate while we ascertain what has happened.
