Police have arrested a man , on suspicion of attempted murder, after a firearm was discharged in Albert Village on the Derbyshire/Leicestershire border on Wednesday.

Police were called to an address in Covert Place at around 6.30pm on Wednesday following a report three men were injured.

Officers say a man in his 50s received minor injuries while the two other men – one in his 30s and one in his 40s – are continuing to receive treatment.

None received life threatening injuries.

A 35 year old was arrested in Derbyshire and remains in police custody.

Detective Inspector Emma Matts, from the Complex Investigation Team (CIT), said: “While one man has been arrested, our investigation is very much continuing. I’d ask anyone who thinks they can provide information about what happened, but who has not yet spoken to police, to come forward.
