Jury in Leicester TikTok murder trial dismissed

A retrial will take place next year.

The jury in the trial of 8 people accused of murdering two men who died in a car crash in Leicestershire has been dismissed.

No further details have been given by the court, but they've confirmed a retrial will take place next year.

The men, in their 20s, died after their car left the road and burst into flames on the A46 back in February.

Among the accused is TikTok influencer Mahek Bukhari and her 45 year old mum Ansreen.

The other six defendants are:

  • Natasha Akhtar, aged 22 (DOB - 28/03/00), of Alum Rock Road, Birmingham
  • Raees Jamal, aged 22 (DOB - 10/05/00), of Lingdale Close, Loughborough
  • Rekan Karwan, aged 28 (DOB - 01/01/94), of Tomlin Road, Leicester
  • Mohammed Patel, aged 20 (DOB - 05/12/01), of Braybrooke Road, Leicester
  • Sanaf Gulammustafa, aged 22 (DOB - 04/03/00), of Littlemore Close, Crown Hills, Leicester
  • Ammeer Jamal, aged 27 (DOB 27/01/95), of Catherine Street, Belgrave, Leicester
