Investigation underway after fatal bungalow fire in Mansfield

An investigation into the cause of a fire in Mansfield which left one woman dead is underway.

Firefighters from Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire were called to Muskham Court in the early hours of Thursday morning.

They pulled a woman from the bungalow but despite the best efforts of emergency services she died at the scene.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fire is now being carried out jointly by the police and fire service.

“This is a tragic incident, and our thoughts are very much with this woman’s family and friends at this sad time,” said Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service Group Manager, Tom Archer.

“We’d like to thank our blue light colleagues for their support at this incident and will now work with Nottinghamshire Police to establish the cause of this fire.”
