Derby woman who died after alleged assault " forever cherished and greatly missed"

A woman who died after police were called to an address in Derby on Wednesday has been named.

Claire Richards was taken to hospital by paramedics after police were called following a report that she had allegedly been assaulted in Bass Street.

The 44-year-old was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at hospital.

Ms Richard’s daughter has said: “My mum was a loving and devoted friend, daughter and grandmother, she will be forever cherished and greatly missed.”

Enquiries into the circumstances of Claire’s death are continuing.

The two men arrested in connection with the incident have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
