A pedestrian hit outside the QMC in Nottingham has died

John Withers has died from his injuries following the collision near to the entrance of the Queen’s Medical Centre at around 7.30pm on Tuesday 6 February. The 73 year old who lived nearby was crossing the road at the time. He was taken to the QMC and died on Sunday evening (11 February).

Officers believe two vehicles were involved which have been identified and recovered. The drivers are assisting officers with their enquiries.

Sergeant Craig Luckett, of Nottinghamshire Police’s Road Policing and Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "This was a tragic incident and our thoughts are with Mr Withers’ family at this extremely difficult time. Specially-trained officers have been assigned to support them as they come to terms with this terrible loss."

As Police continue to investigate the incident officers are appealing for witnesses with any video or dash-cam footage to get in touch.
